    Maybe it's because I ain't a Londoner!

     Hi there everyone.

Katie here, back in Manchester for the weekend. It took ages to get back because of the floods and storms we are experiencing in the UK at the moment, I have never seen anything like it! Even parts of the tube were flooded. Bit worried about getting back now!

London has been going well and I have been trying to make the most of it and doing some sightseeing, and of course seeing some of my lovely friends who live in London.

These are some of the sights I've seen so far!:

    British Library.
Open late on a Tuesday, but unfortunately I still didn't have very long to look round. Still an amazing collection of first additions, letters and correspondence from literary figures, diaries, sheets of music, memerobilla -  you name it. Really amazing and very moving. Could easily spend hours trawling through.

    Science Museum.
Again, outstanding collection displayed in a thoughtful, provocative way. Great for kids too.

    Hyde Park.
Wonderful wide open spaces with lots of activities going on, people chilling out, walking, cycling and blading around.

    Holland Park.
Near where I am staying. Very relaxing and has a very English feel with people laying tennis and cricket. I have been there afew times now on my own with my own thoughts. I really like the Japanese Garden there very relaxing. Spot the huge carp and the peacocks.

    Kensington Gardens.
Nice with lots of Diana fans wandering around outside Kensington House.

    Photographers Gallery.
Very interesting, really enjoyed having  look around this small gallery. Thought provoking and funny exhibitions. Plus  a nice cuppa to be had there!

I have also been wandering around Trafalgar Sq and Westminister as you can see from my photos above.
These have all been taken with a camera phone that I am only just learning to use, so the results aren't too bad considering!
I have also been around Covent Gardens which are really nice - great for people watching amongst the hustle and bustle! And of course to the local pubs and the pictures to see the new Harry Potter film. Now I've got to read the new book to see how it ends!

Well I am out and about in the rain tonight. Bye for now.
lots of love from Katie XXXXX
